GP – Prison Healthcare, HMP Birmingham-ASAP Start

We’re recruiting on behalf of a healthcare provider delivering primary care within HMP Birmingham, looking for a GP to join their secure-setting clinical team. This is a rewarding role for a GP who enjoys working with a complex, varied patient population and wants to make a genuine difference in an under-served area of healthcare.

• Location: HMP Birmingham
• Rate: £90 per hour
• Availability: 3–5 days available, with flexibility
• System: SystmOne
• Practice setup: Established prison healthcare team with strong clinical and custodial support, full induction and security clearance support provided

You’ll be working alongside experienced nursing and mental health colleagues, managing a broad case mix including chronic disease management, substance misuse, and mental health presentations. Full training on prison healthcare procedures is provided, so previous secure-setting experience isn’t essential — just an interest in this area of practice.
