Want to use your clinical skills where they make the biggest difference to patients? Kyan is working with a well-organised GP practice in Sussex that is looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to strengthen its multidisciplinary team.

Key Details:
– Location: Sussex
– Role: Clinical Pharmacist (primary care)
– Rate: Competitive rate – to be confirmed
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with the option to discuss ongoing work
– Working pattern: Weekday daytime sessions, with protected time for admin and medication reviews
– Patient workload: A mix of booked face-to-face and telephone clinics, plus prescription and medicines queries
– Clinical system: SystmOne
– Start date: Flexible start date to suit you

Key Responsibilities:
– Carrying out structured medication reviews, including for frail and polypharmacy patients
– Managing repeat prescribing requests, medicines reconciliation and hospital discharge letters
– Running long-term condition clinics such as hypertension, asthma and diabetes, within your competence
– Answering medicines queries from GPs, nurses, patients and community pharmacies
– Supporting the practice with prescribing audits and medicines safety work

About the Opportunity:
This practice sees the Clinical Pharmacist as a core part of the clinical team rather than an add-on. You’ll have a named GP supervisor for clinical support, regular contact with the wider PCN pharmacy team, and a reception team that knows which queries to route your way. The workload is well balanced between patient-facing clinics and protected review time, so you can do the job properly. The practice would welcome a pharmacist for regular ongoing work.

Requirements:
– Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
– Independent Prescriber qualification (preferred)
– Experience in a primary care or GP practice setting
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate professional indemnity cover
– Up-to-date compliance
