This exceptional GP practice in the heart of Ashbourne is seeking a skilled GP Locum for a 6-month contract. They are dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment for their team.

Position Overview

As a GP Locum, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to the practice’s commitment to minimising administrative workload and maximising job satisfaction for the benefit of both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Manage patients in surgery, initiating investigations and making referrals as needed
  • Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients
  • Ensure appropriate patient follow-up and maintain clear consultation notes
  • Participate in clinical audits, learning event analyses, and practice meetings
  • Issue computer-generated prescriptions and support the primary health care team
  • Contribute to achieving key performance indicator targets

Requirements

  • Qualified GP with full GMC registration and licence to practice
  • On a performers list and hold a valid UK driver’s licence
  • Experience working in a GP practice using EMIS (desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Adaptable, forward-looking, and solution-focused approach
  • Commitment to professional development and computer literacy
  • Appreciation for a semi-rural lifestyle (desirable)
