Locum GP – Harrogate

Have an interest in frailty and caring for older patients? Lorenzo is recruiting a Locum GP for a Harrogate practice where surgery sessions are combined with a regular weekly care home round.

Key Details:
– Location: Harrogate
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with flexibility
– Working pattern: Weekday sessions, including a regular care home round one morning a week
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session on surgery days, with a smaller, structured list on care home days
– Clinical system: SystmOne
– Start date: Sessions available from the next few weeks

Key Responsibilities:
– Running routine surgery consultations across all age groups
– Leading a weekly care home round, prepared in advance by the practice’s care coordinator
– Holding anticipatory care planning conversations with residents and their families
– Carrying out medication reviews with support from the PCN clinical pharmacist
– Liaising with district nurses and community teams to keep care joined up

The care coordinator prepares notes and priorities before each round, so your time is spent on clinical care rather than chasing information. The practice has a strong multidisciplinary team, a friendly and experienced clinical group, and a genuine interest in keeping the right GP on board for ongoing work. Harrogate is a pleasant place to work, with parking at the practice, and is within easy reach of Leeds and York.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
