Like the idea of finishing clinic and being on the seafront within ten minutes? Angus is working with a well-run Bournemouth practice that needs a Locum GP to help manage its year-round list and the extra demand that comes with a busy coastal town.

Key Details:
– Location: Bournemouth
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with the option to discuss ongoing work
– Working pattern: Weekday daytime sessions, with full days preferred
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with protected catch-up time built in mid-morning
– Clinical system: EMIS
– Start date: Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities:
– Consulting with a broad mix of registered patients, from young families to retirees
– Seeing temporary residents and visitors, particularly during the spring and summer months
– Managing your own pathology results, letters and repeat prescription queries
– Working closely with the practice pharmacist, nursing team and first-contact physiotherapist

Coastal general practice brings real clinical variety – one session might cover chronic disease reviews for an older population, the next minor injuries and acute presentations from people on holiday. The practice plans for this well, with protected catch-up slots so the extra demand never spills into your lunch break. The team are friendly, organised and used to working with locums, and the partners are happy to discuss a regular weekly pattern for the right GP. Bournemouth has good rail links to Southampton and London, and staff parking is available on site.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
