Our client, a friendly and well-established GP practice in Bushey, is seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Locum GP to join their dedicated team. The practice is committed to delivering high-quality primary care services while embracing traditional values and managing change effectively.

Position Overview

As a Locum GP, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive primary care services to the practice’s diverse patient population. You will work alongside a supportive team of healthcare professionals, including a principal GP, two part-time salaried GPs, and a skilled support staff comprising a practice manager, HCAs, care coordinators, admin, and reception personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, and acting as a duty doctor as part of the surgery rota
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the practice
  • Record clear, concise, computer-based consultation notes to agreed and acceptable standards using the EMIS WEB clinical system
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
  • Prescribe in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines
  • Perform all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care

Requirements

  • MRCGP qualification
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in using the EMIS WEB clinical system
