Interested in working with a younger patient population and all the variety that comes with it? Danny is recruiting a Locum GP for a busy Canterbury practice that looks after a large student population alongside local families.

Key Details:
– Location: Canterbury
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: Flexible availability across 3–5 days
– Working pattern: Weekday daytime sessions
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with a mix of booked and on-the-day appointments
– Clinical system: SystmOne
– Start date: Immediate start available, with work continuing through the academic year

Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting patients with anxiety, low mood and other mental health concerns, working closely with university wellbeing services
– Managing contraception, sexual health, travel health and vaccination queries
– Assessing acute presentations common in young adults, from infections to sports injuries
– Caring for the practice’s wider registered population, including families and older patients

The practice has an in-house mental health practitioner and a social prescriber, with clear referral routes into university support services, so you’re never managing complex cases on your own. The building is modern, the admin team is efficient, and the clinical team is welcoming to locums. It’s a short walk from both Canterbury stations, and there’s plenty of regular work available for the right GP.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
