Locum GP – Carlisle - ASAP Start!

Locum GP – Carlisle

Fancy combining well-paid work with time near the Lakes? Arron is supporting a Carlisle practice that is looking for Locum GPs to cover week-long blocks, ideal if you like to travel for work and make the most of where you are.

Key Details:
– Location: Carlisle
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: 3–5 days available per week, booked in blocks, with flexibility
– Working pattern: Consecutive weekday sessions, booked in week-long or fortnightly blocks
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with a structured duty rota shared across the clinical team
– Clinical system: SystmOne
– Start date: Blocks available from the coming month, with dates to suit you

Key Responsibilities:
– Running routine and same-day surgeries for a mixed city and rural patient list
– Taking part in the shared duty rota on agreed days
– Completing a small number of planned home visits to housebound patients
– Working alongside ANPs, practice nurses, a clinical pharmacist and the care coordinator

About the Opportunity:
Booking in blocks means you can settle into the practice, follow up your own patients across the week and really get to know the team. The practice is organised and welcoming, with a full induction on your first morning and a named GP contact throughout your stay. Carlisle is easy to reach on the West Coast Main Line and M6, and the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders are all on the doorstep for evenings and weekends. Many locums return for repeat blocks, and the practice is keen to build ongoing relationships.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
