Key Details:
– Location: Taunton
– Role: Locum GP – Extended Access
– Rate: £90 per hour
– Availability: 3–5 days available across weekday evenings and Saturdays, with flexibility
– Working pattern: Early-evening clinics on weekdays and Saturday morning sessions
– Patient workload: Pre-booked routine appointments only, with a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations
– Clinical system: EMIS
– Start date: Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities:
– Seeing pre-booked patients from practices across the network
– Carrying out routine reviews, minor illness consultations and follow-up appointments
– Documenting clearly so each patient’s own practice can pick up any actions
– Working with the hub’s nurse and healthcare assistant on shared clinics

These clinics are designed to be calm and predictable. There’s no duty doctor role, no home visits and no unplanned extras, so you can finish on time and leave knowing the session is done. The hub is based at a modern, well-equipped surgery with free parking, and the PCN team handles the booking so all you need to do is arrive and consult. It suits GPs who want to top up a salaried or partnership role, or anyone who’d rather keep weekday daytimes free. Taunton sits right on the M5, with quick links to Exeter, Bridgwater and Bristol.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
