Enjoy long-term condition work and seeing the difference good chronic disease management makes? George is working with a Chesterfield practice that would like a Locum GP to help run its diabetes and respiratory review clinics alongside routine surgeries.

Key Details:
– Location: Chesterfield
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: Flexible availability across 3–5 days
– Working pattern: Weekday sessions, split between routine surgeries and planned review clinics
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with longer appointments in review clinics
– Clinical system: SystmOne
– Start date: Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities:
– Reviewing patients with diabetes, COPD and asthma alongside the practice nursing team
– Optimising treatment plans and medication in line with local guidelines
– Using the practice’s SystmOne templates to keep recall and review work on track
– Running routine and on-the-day consultations on surgery sessions

About the Opportunity:
This is a practice that takes long-term conditions seriously and has the systems to back it up. Bloods, spirometry and foot checks are completed by the HCA team before your appointment, so you can focus on the clinical conversation rather than chasing results. The nurses are experienced and collaborative, the templates are already set up, and there’s a friendly, settled clinical team to work alongside. It’s a great fit for a GP with an interest in chronic disease, and there’s scope for ongoing work. The practice is easy to reach from Sheffield and the M1, with parking on site.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
