Thrive on a busy, varied day and enjoy being the clinician the team turns to? Tom is recruiting a Locum GP to take on regular duty doctor days at a well-organised Lancaster practice.

Key Details:
– Location: Lancaster
– Role: Locum GP – Duty Doctor
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with flexibility
– Working pattern: Full-day duty sessions, Monday to Friday
– Patient workload: Triage list and urgent on-the-day appointments, capped and actively managed by the care navigation team
– Clinical system: EMIS
– Start date: Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities:
– Triaging same-day requests received by telephone and online consultation
– Seeing urgent face-to-face appointments where an examination is needed
– Supporting ANPs and paramedics with clinical advice and prescribing sign-off
– Handling urgent results, prescription queries and calls from community teams
– Arranging urgent referrals or admissions where appropriate

About the Opportunity:
Duty days can make or break a locum’s week, and this practice has put real thought into getting them right. The triage list is capped, care navigators are well trained in signposting, and there’s a protected catch-up slot built into the middle of the day. You’ll have experienced ANPs and paramedics alongside you, with a partner on hand for back-up whenever you need it. The practice is keen to find a GP for regular ongoing duty days, and Lancaster’s location near the M6 and West Coast Main Line makes it an easy commute – with the Lake District on the doorstep for your days off.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
