Looking for a settled stretch of work in one practice, with a team that will be genuinely glad to have you? Michael is helping a Winchester surgery find a Locum GP to cover a partner’s maternity leave.

Key Details:
– Location: Winchester
– Role: Locum GP (maternity cover)
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: Flexible availability across 3–5 days
– Working pattern: Regular weekday sessions covering an established clinic list
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with a shared duty doctor rota
– Clinical system: SystmOne
– Start date: To be agreed, with several months of cover available

Key Responsibilities:
– Picking up a partner’s regular clinic list and continuing care for their patients
– Taking a fair share of the practice’s duty and same-day work
– Managing results, letters and repeat prescribing linked to your list
– Joining monthly clinical meetings so you’re part of practice discussions

The practice has planned this cover well in advance, so there’s a proper handover, your clinics are ready from day one and you’ll have a named partner to go to with any questions. The team is well established and welcoming, with experienced nurses, a clinical pharmacist and efficient admin support behind you. Winchester is a historic cathedral city with a fast rail link to London Waterloo and easy access to the M3. Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
