Locum GP (Minor Surgery) – Leamington Spa

Keen to keep your procedural skills sharp alongside your everyday clinics? Zak is looking for a Locum GP to join a Leamington Spa practice that runs its own minor surgery and joint injection lists.

Key Details:
– Location: Leamington Spa
– Role: Locum GP with minor surgery sessions
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: Flexible availability across 3–5 days
– Working pattern: Routine morning clinics, with afternoon procedure lists on set days
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with longer slots for procedures
– Clinical system: EMIS
– Start date: Flexible start date to suit you

Key Responsibilities:
– Running general GP clinics for a mixed adult and paediatric list
– Carrying out minor surgical procedures and joint injections within your competence
– Taking consent and completing procedure records and histology follow-up
– Working with the practice nurses and HCAs who support each procedure list

About the Opportunity:
Procedure lists are run properly here. There’s a dedicated, well-equipped treatment room, an experienced HCA to assist, and sensible appointment lengths, so you’re never squeezing an excision into a ten-minute slot. If minor surgery isn’t part of your current skill set, there are plenty of general clinic sessions too, and the team is happy to shape your week around what you do best. Leamington Spa is an attractive Regency town with good rail links to Birmingham and London and easy access to the M40, and ongoing work is available for the right GP.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
– Evidence of minor surgery or joint injection competence (desirable for procedure sessions)
