Our client provides high-quality primary care to prisoners across all categories of prisons in the UK. They are seeking an experienced GP to join their dedicated healthcare team and deliver exceptional care to inmates within the prison system.

Position Overview

As a General Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive primary care services to prisoners. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of health conditions, ensuring that inmates receive the highest standard of care. Additionally, you will actively participate in clinical governance initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical processes and pathways to continuously improve patient care within the prison service.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality primary care to prisoners across all categories of prisons
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of health conditions
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
  • Actively participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical processes and pathways
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and guidelines

Requirements

  • Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration
  • Experience in primary care settings
  • Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with clinical governance and quality improvement processes
  • Flexibility to work in various prison locations
  • Enhanced DBS and security clearance (will be obtained)
