Locum GP – Scarborough - ASAP Start!

Locum GP – Scarborough

How often do you get the time to practise medicine the way you’d like to? George is working with a Scarborough practice that books 15-minute appointments as standard, giving you the space to do a thorough job with every patient.

Key Details:
– Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with the option to discuss ongoing work
– Working pattern: Weekday sessions, Monday to Friday
– Patient workload: Around 12 patients per session, in 15-minute appointments
– Clinical system: SystmOne

Key Responsibilities:
– Holding face-to-face and telephone consultations across a broad patient list
– Managing older patients with several long-term conditions
– Reviewing results and letters linked to your patients
– Working with the practice nurses, pharmacist and community teams

About the Opportunity:
Longer appointments make a real difference. You have time to examine properly, explain clearly and deal with the second problem a patient raises, without running late for the rest of the morning. Many patients here are older with complex needs, so the work is clinically satisfying, and the practice team supports you well with nursing and pharmacy input. Scarborough is a characterful seaside town with the North York Moors on its doorstep, ideal if you enjoy the outdoors. Regular sessions are available for a GP who wants to settle in.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
