Locum GP – Warrington

Have a genuine interest in mental health and want to work somewhere that gives patients proper support beyond the consultation? Karl is recruiting a Locum GP for a Warrington practice with its own in-house mental health team, so you’re never left holding complex cases on your own.

Key Details:
– Location: Warrington
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with flexibility
– Working pattern: Weekday sessions, Monday to Friday
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with protected time for admin
– Clinical system: SystmOne
– Start date: Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities:
– Running routine and same-day GP clinics for a mixed patient list
– Assessing patients presenting with anxiety, low mood and other common mental health concerns
– Referring to, and working alongside, the practice’s mental health practitioner and social prescriber
– Reviewing results, prescriptions and letters arising from your sessions

About the Opportunity:
Mental health makes up a large share of everyday general practice, and this team has built its service around that. A mental health practitioner works on site most days and can usually see patients within the week, so your referrals lead somewhere quickly. The partners hold a short, informal huddle at lunchtime, giving you an easy chance to talk through a tricky case. It’s a supportive, well-organised practice where locums are treated as part of the clinical team. Warrington sits between Manchester and Liverpool with quick access to the M6 and M62, and regular, ongoing sessions are available for a GP who settles in well.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance

To Apply:
Send your CV to [email protected], or give Karl a call to talk through the sessions available and how the mental health team works day to day.
