OOH Locum GP (Home Visiting) – London

Prefer seeing patients in their own homes to sitting behind a desk all shift? Sean is recruiting Out-of-Hours GPs for dedicated home visiting shifts with a well-established London OOH service.

Key Details:
– Location: London
– Role: OOH GP – Home Visiting
– Rate: £90 per hour
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with flexibility across evenings, weekends and bank holidays
– Working pattern: Evening and weekend visiting shifts, with some overnight cover available for those who want it
– Patient workload: Home visits allocated by the base, prioritised through clinical triage before you set off
– Clinical system: EMIS
– Start date: Start as soon as your compliance is in place

Key Responsibilities:
– Assessing and treating patients at home who are too unwell or frail to attend a base
– Managing urgent presentations and making safe decisions on admission or community care
– Supporting end-of-life and palliative patients alongside community nursing teams
– Documenting each visit clearly so the patient’s own GP has a full picture the next day

About the Opportunity:
These shifts are built around the visiting GP. You’ll travel with an experienced driver in a fully equipped car, so there’s no parking or navigation to worry about, and you can focus entirely on clinical care between visits. Calls are triaged before they reach you, and a senior clinician is always available on the phone for advice. It’s rewarding, hands-on medicine with plenty of variety, and it suits GPs who are confident making independent decisions. Shifts are released in advance, so you can plan around your other commitments.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
