OOH Locum GP (Weekend Day Shifts) – Leicester

Interested in Out-of-Hours work but not in overnight shifts? Arron is recruiting GPs for daytime weekend and bank holiday sessions at a Leicester primary care base, so you can enjoy urgent care work and still keep your evenings.

Key Details:
– Location: Leicester
– Role: OOH GP
– Rate: £95 per hour
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with flexibility
– Working pattern: Daytime Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday shifts, with no nights
– Patient workload: Booked face-to-face appointments at the base, with telephone assessments in between
– Clinical system: EMIS
– Start date: Shifts available now

Key Responsibilities:
– Seeing patients with urgent problems that can’t wait until the next working day
– Carrying out telephone assessments and arranging face-to-face appointments where needed
– Prescribing, giving safety-netting advice and referring on when appropriate
– Writing clear notes so the patient’s own GP can follow up

These are well-structured daytime shifts at a single, well-equipped base, so there’s no driving between visits and no working through the night. Every shift has a named senior clinician to call on, and the reception and nursing staff keep the service running smoothly. The work is varied and fast-paced without feeling chaotic. Leicester is easy to reach from the M1 and M69, and you can book shifts weeks in advance, which makes it simple to fit around your regular sessions.

Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
